After nine months of in-utero hiccups and nearly four months of hiccups here in New York, she’s still got them. And apparently it’s getting old.

Game day sure isn’t what it used to be in our apartment…
We LOVE when we arrive home to a Carter’s bag — it means Gigi’s grandmother has been thinking of her! She is so thoughtful and generous to buy Georgia Grace no-glory gifts she needs (basics like onesies and buntings) as well as super adorable gifts (like sweaters with bear ears!). We are so grateful for her and we appreciate it so much!
All she needs is a little water, a wash cloth, and a comfortable place to sit.
Sunday is quickly becoming my favorite day of the week. We have breakfast and get ready, stroll down to Trinity for church, and then come home to spend a lazy afternoon together.
Today, Mark gave his first sermon since leaving for sabbatical this summer and it was positively beautiful. And would you believe he gave our little family a shout out? He sure does love his “Grace” as he calls her. During communion we walked to the other side of the church so Father Mark personally could bless her. As a result, Gigi got not just one but two blessings, and Dave and I ended up having communion twice… I think it’s going to be a good week! Unsurprisingly, our little angel was just that during the service, and afterward, parishioners came by to meet Georgia Grace and tell us how good she was. We love our little community at Trinity Wall Street. It’s incredible how they’ve made such a big place feel so small and intimate. I’m so happy our baby girl is surrounded by such love there; it’s so fulfilling to see her bringing joy to the congregation… people’s faces just light up when she looks at them (…especially the little old ladies in their Sunday best!).
Here’s the link to Mark’s sermon.
Gigi’s grandpa heard her daddy was going to be away for a few days, so he took mercy on us and came to help… we are so glad he did! Georgia Grace had such a good time reading books, watching football (Georgia Tech slaughtered Virginia Tech), and learning about the 1968 Detroit Tigers and the ’61 Yankees (“the best team ever”, according to Grandpa Bob). I, on the other hand, was grateful for the opportunity to do laundry, shower, and eat (…it’s the little things!).
We can’t wait for him to come back. Just look at those two — they have so much fun together!
