Good Morning, Mama

Chapter Books

Georgia Grace has become quite the reader! Recently, she’s begun reading chapter books all by herself! She’s working on the Itty Bitty Princess Kitty set, and has already finished the first five books (having read a couple of them twice!). I’m so proud of our big girl.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

It wasn’t the “love day” (as Gigi says) that we were expecting: Dave had Covid and Gigi had a cold. Unfortunately, that meant that Gigi missed v-day at school, but we tried to make it special for her. Gigi had spent weeks preparing for the holiday: she’d made valentines for her entire class and special homemade cards for all of us at home. She is such a special and thoughtful person, and really knows how to celebrate!

Note the box of tissues 😦 poor baby

Eloise at The Plaza!

Gigi has really stepped up since her baby sister was born, taking on more “big girl” tasks and responsibilities to make things easier on her parents. As a reward, we celebrated as a family at Eloise tea at The Plaza! Gigi was so excited to go, particularly because she’s been so into the Eloise books and movie lately.

On our way!
The Plaza entryway

It was so special to experience Palm Court, the restaurant at The Plaza that delivers room service to Eloise. The waitstaff treated Gigi like a princess, and even put a pretty pink napkin in her lap. They offered her tea, a Shirley Temple, or pink lemonade, but Gigi opted for water. Similarly, Dave and I were offered tea, but we asked for almond milk lattes instead.

The finger foods were elaborate and Gigi was a bit hesitant to try them. Nevertheless, she was so thrilled to be there and enjoyed every minute of it. Our Eloise behaved perfectly, nursing most of the time.

After tea, we walked over to the Eloise shop, where Gigi chose her prizes: a little Skipperdee turtle and an Eloise doll. On the way out, the doormen were very friendly and kind, stopping to chat with G, and even gifted her some Eloise jellybeans!

Urban Farming

Gigi’s class has learned all about urban farming this year, and today, her class invited the grown ups to come celebrate their work and knowledge share! It was such a pleasure to spend the time with Gigi and I am so proud of all she’s learned.

EEW: Week 12

We’re fully into the swing of things as a family of four! Eloise is starting to sleep for longer stretches of time, and her personality is starting to show. She gives us lots of big, gummy smiles and giggles in her sleep. She’s babbling a bunch, too! We will chat with her, babbling back and forth. Eloise often pauses and (seemingly) listens to us before responding with her own babble. It’s a game we never tire of!

I showed Gigi a picture of her wearing a bow for her weekly baby pictures, so this week, she requested we do a few pics of Eloise in the same bow.
