Me Time

I will never forget it, my friend told me that “work travel is the new vacation,” when I boarded my first post-Gigi work trip about 15 months ago. I have to travel, so I may as well enjoy it, right?

I’m on my way to Los Angeles for a meeting with the National Football League. I hate to leave you for even a second, Gigi, but Mama is doing some pretty big things at work right now… it’s something that was all my idea; something that no one else thought or tried to do. I have worked so hard to make this thing happen. I hope it works out, but more importantly, I hope that, one day, you’ll be proud. I also hope that, somehow, you’re picking up a solid work ethic — the same one I learned from my mom, my dad, and my Ganny. In case none of that is impressive, don’t worry — I’ll bring you a present… That should suffice for now.

I love you, Dave and Gigi! I will see you early Thursday morning!

Hummus

She loves hummus. Hummus and tomatoes, hummus and pasta, hummus and chicken. Even hummus on pizza. She has been sick and not eating much this past week so last night before bedtime when she pulled the hummus out of the fridge and sat down at her table – an obvious tactic to delay bedtime – I didn’t argue. We stayed up late and had a snack. She ate about 15 cherry tomatoes with hummus on each bite.

Gigi’s Words: As of March 12

At 19 months of age, Gigi’s vocabulary largely consists of the following words:

Mimi

(Note: I was late in posting this. Just over a month later, her vocabulary has grown exponentially and there aren’t many words she won’t attempt to say. It is amazing how quickly children change, grow, and develop.)
