Gigi’s Baptism
Five years and one day after Dave and I were married, Father Mark baptized Georgia Grace in the same exact place we exchanged our vows — at the alter of Trinity Church on Broadway at Wall Street in lower Manhattan. It was the sweetest, most perfect baptism we could’ve imagined in the most intimate setting we could’ve imagined. Although most Episcopal baptisms occur in front of the entire congregation only a few times of year, Father Mark called in a special favor just for Gigi. Gigi’s Mama, Dada, Grandmother, Grandpa, Mimi, cousin Ben, Godparents, Uncle Joey and Aunt Amey, and nanny, Chandra, circled around her while Father Mark marked her as Christ’s own forever. Afterward, we paraded back to Reade Street Pub where we celebrated over a meal. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. We love all of these people so much and are so grateful for the love they have for our daughter. We were honored to have shared this special day with each of you!

Baby’s First Bribe!
Over the past several years we’ve traveled together, I’ve watched my business partner/boss/friend, Anthony, devote time and money to picking up souvenirs for his two kids every single trip. I’m not kidding, he hasn’t missed a single one. Does it make his kids happy? Yes. It is a bribe? Maybe. Probably. But what I learned today is that it sure does make you happy to think of the joy it will bring your child when you return. Tonight, G will be the proud recipient of a recently freed, stuffed Parasaurolophus( a former prisoner of the below-pictured “Cuddle Zoo”) and I can’t wait to see the look on her face.

Friday Morning with Mama
Chandra worked some long hours for us this week, so we insisted she sleep in a bit on Friday. As a result, G and me got to spend the morning together! We went for a walk and got our early-AM fix: coffee for me, and pain au chocolat for G. The weather was beautiful and she was an angel. It was such a great start to my Friday. I love her so much.
How cute are her chocolate-covered lips??
