Growing Up

Today Gigi walked to the bathroom, pushed me away so she could “do it by herself,” put the toilet seat down so she could climb on the toilet to reach and turn on the light, climbed down, lifted the toilet seat, put her potty seat on the toilet, moved her step stool in front of the toilet, took off her pants, and peed all by herself.

Monday Morning

I started a new job today!! Before heading into the office (still at Citi — just a new role) to meet with my new boss, I hung out at Kaffe 1668 to have coffee and gather my thoughts for our meeting. After I finished my coffee, I walked out of the shop and almost literally ran into Gigi and Chandra. It was the perfect start to my first day on the job! I was so happy, and she seemed pretty excited to see me, too 🙂

Moving Crew

In preparation for my new job at Citi, Dave, Gigi, and I headed into my office to move from the 18th floor (where I used to sit) to the 24th floor (where I now sit). Gigi’s friend Miss Meghan was there, too, and G did such a good job helping us move! Afterwards, Gigi celebrated with her favorite snack: pain au chocolat.

“I feel it in my heart.”

This is the last exchange Gigi and I had before she fell asleep in my arms tonight. What a wonderful human you are, Georgia Grace Welch. I am so proud to be your mama.

Gigi: (Pointing to my “g” necklace.) Mama, why do you wear that necklace every day?

Me: Because it makes me think of you.

Gigi: When I wear my unicorn necklace, I think of you, too, Mama. I feel it in my heart.
